We will always have a soft spot for William, the first farmer brave and romantic enough to join us on this journey.
William’s father, Geronimo, was born in the late 50s in Igualero, a small village on La Gomera.
He decided to embark on a real adventure and emigrated to Venezuela on a sailing boat.

He later returned to marry his beloved wife in Pastrana, and after that they spent more than 50 years together in Venezuela.
William tells us about the large farm they owned, the variety of trees and fruits they grew, including coffee plants.

Geronimo loved Venezuela, but always maintained a close relationship with La Gomera.
He came and went, crossed the Atlantic and bought land for a possible future for his family on the island.
This future became a reality: over the years, members of the family began to settle back on the island and farm the land that Geronimo had acquired over the years.

When you talk to Geronimo, William and his brother Wilfredo, you can sense the constant nostalgic flavor: once in Venezuela, they miss La Gomera, and on La Gomera they miss Venezuela.
As for the old days of the island, William can tell us stories about the grandmothers who roasted coffee in Barranco Santiago.
Last summer, we had the opportunity to taste William’s finely roasted coffee beans for the first time, and you know what: you could feel the nostalgia in every sip.
